Joey is a 10 years young beagle/cocker mix looking for his forever home! Don't let his age fool you; he's still an energetic dog who can chase a ball for hours. Joey's previous owner raised him since he was a puppy, but unfortunately had to go to a nursing home when she could no longer take care of him. Joey craves attention, loves to snuggle, and is an excellent lap dog. He's used to being the king of the castle and will need a patient and loving home willing to work with him and his strong sense of ownership over toys and treats. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, gets along well with dogs and cats, and would do best in a home with no children.
If you're looking for an energetic and lovable dog, Joey might be the guy for you!

Raspberry aka Raz is a small 4 year old beagle who just loves to lay on the couch. He's sharing a home right now with a bullmastiff boy and Rhodesian ridgeback girl and gets along great with both. He is on meds to prevent seizures – alas seizures are very common in beagles and usually very well controlled with meds. He has been fine with the children in his foster home, but it is clear he'd prefer to be in a family with older, or very calm, younger children. Raz is a sweet little guy who has endeared himself to his foster family, but is ready for a home of his own.

Snoop is a sweet guy that always wags his tail when you walk into the room. He has been having lots of fun playing chase and tug with his foster brother and sister. His favorite game to play is tug with his foster sister, and the winner gets the toy and gets chased through the house by the loser. He is well behaved and has not had any accidents in his foster home. He also responds well to a spray bottle if he needs to be corrected. He loves to be petted, and if he sees one of the other dogs being petted he will make sure to come over and get his turn. He sleeps soundly through the night, probably because he needs the energy for the next fun day with his siblings and people.
We haven't had him around cats or kids but think based on his personality that he would be fine. Snoop is heartworm-positive but will be treated and good as new after his recovery period. Snoop will make a great friend and companion for the right home!

Shiloh is a handsome 10 year old beagle with the best manners! His foster mom says that he is great with other dogs and cats, he doesn't beg for food, and he's not a big barker. He has mastered the head tilt and loves to snuggle. He also walks very well on a leash and gets along very well with kids. He is HW positive, but don't let that deter you. (Hound Rescue will have him treated.) He is the perfect beagle boy that would make a great addition to any family!

What is better than one beagle? Two! Flash and Gordon are a very bonded pair of beagles, who we are looking to place together. Both Flash and Gordon are housebroken and gentleman. They are not hyper or aggressive, have no history of medical problems and no current medical needs. They'll be great additions to any family!
Flash is a spunky Lemon Beagle. When you look into his light brown eye you can't get over how happy he is to see you. He's even-tempered and very gentle with the kiddos and will gladly sit down and watch them play their games while they tell him how to do it:). He gets along great with the foster's own dogs (females) as well as Gordon. Once he catches the scent of another animal or bug his nose is to the ground and his tail is straight up and will bounce back and forth all over the yard until he finds it. He is the first to greet you in the morning to make sure your doing ok and to open the door for him so he can go explore outside and always last to say good night before he lays his head down when all is well and to his liking.
Gordon is also a very loving Lemon Beagle who will gladly sit on your lap all day and let you pet him while he makes noises of enjoyment. He's very curious and loves to chase bugs. He will follow you around just waiting for you to sit so that you can pet him and then he'll take a nap when he feels you've had enough:), he's wonderful with kids, won't push them over or jump on them. He says hello to everyone that passes by and sometimes they even can't help to stop and say hello to this lovable face that just beckons you to give him a pat or two on the head.

Patriot is your basic good, friendly beagle boy. His foster mom reports that he is very affectionate. Patriot loves being outside and has a great deal of fun romping around the yard with the two dogs in his foster home, then chilling out in front of the TV on his favorite dog bed. He is scheduled for heartworm treatment in late July, then should be good as new after a 4-6 week recovery period. Patriot will be happy to find his perfect home!
Please note, a high speed camera may be needed to capture Patriot's extremely happy tail wagging!

Beagle boy Willie just moved himself on into his foster home like it was his. He's getting on great with his two foster brothers and the humans in the house, even the bossy one! He is curious about the cats but not aggressive. He appears to know what a dog door is for and seems house trained. We're solving his slight beagle bulge issue with a regular healthy diet. His energy level is just right... his foster mom shared how quickly he settled in "when I left this morning Willie and Leonard were on the couch sleeping and Sammy was asleep in the chair right next to them."

Admiral is a stately older gentleman beagle who meshed right into his foster home. He's doing amazing with all four dogs and all the two leggers as well (ages 9 and 12). He might know sit, but with obstinate beagles kinda hard to tell if he does it on command or if he got bored waiting for you to do what he wanted. He's an awesome little beagle and everything you'd expect in the breed. He's sweet and loving, smart, loves food and just a touch devious. Have not heard a single bark or howl or aroooo out of him yet. Hopefully that's just his quiet nature!

This is Peppermint. He is a 5 month old beagle mix. He loves swimming (he was doing just that before his photo shoot!), playing with canine friends, and gets along well with all children (not a jumper!). He is also cat and chicken friendly, and would do best in a fenced yard as he is not very familiar with leashed walks (we're working on it though). He will be fully vetted and neutered, and a contract, interview and adoption fee will be required to make sure he goes to a good home. He will be a large dog when he is fully grown, and with a lot of love to give!
Peppermint is a courtesy listing and is not a Hound Rescue dog. If interested, please email email@example.com for additional information.

TBone is a young energetic small beagle. He is looking for a family that likes a lot of walks, playing fetch, and teaching him new tricks. Tbone craves a lot of love and obviously likes to be with the family at all times. He has a strong personality and knows what he wants; if he rather not do something (ex. go outside) he may get snappy, so we recommend he does not live with small children. His foster family will be working with a trainer to help control this behavior.
He is a very social dog and enjoys other dogs and cats. He is working on his manners and tends to like to jump up on people and the counters, but he is learning quickly. He loves his crate at night and has figured out how to keep it clean. He occasionally has accidents indoors, but is working on the problem.
Tbone deserves a loving home with a lot of attention and love!

Scout is a sweet little beagle girl, her foster mom said she's a total easy keeper "just another mouth to feed." Scout is very people-oriented and loves to be with her people, but is also getting along just fine with her doggy siblings. She's a bit shy when you first meet her, but warms up and bonds quickly.

June (nicknamed Juicy J!) is a young, friendly, and playful beagle mix. She loves to walk, she is potty trained, and a real people pleaser. She is great around kids and will play catch all day with them if you let her. She also enjoys playing with other dogs. All you need is one look at her smiling face and you will fall in love with her. Yes, she really does smile!

Mandy is a harrier mix, 2-3 years old. She stands taller than your typical beagle, long and lean, a beautiful body. When Mandy was first pulled from a shelter, she was unable to use her hind legs due to a probable spinal cord injury. After two days of receiving laser therapy and meds, she was able to walk and even run a little. It seemed miraculous! She continued on a laser therapy regimen and improved a great deal, though her gait is still a bit stilted. But that sure doesn’t stop her, as she rips around the yard chasing squirrels and playing with other dogs in the household! In general her quality of life is very good and vets believe she can have a good, long, healthy life.
Mandy is a very sweet girl, quite the cuddler, sometimes a little shy when first meeting people, but quite devoted to the people in her life. Mandy has a bit of a serious demeanor, which is somehow enchanting. She gets along fine with other dogs, though not trustworthy around cats. She is housebroken and great in the crate. She enjoys having a yard, but would probably also do fine in an apartment setting, since she is not much of a barker. We don’t know anything about Mandy’s life before she came to Hound Rescue, but she was a great save. Now she just needs that very special forever family!

Winnie is a super friendly beagle who has gotten along well with her foster sister Jackie who is just a bit younger. So far she's been an easy keeper - she's housebroken and does as she's told (for the most part - she is a beagle after all). We'll post more soon when she has settled in a bit more, but so far she's been a great little breed ambassador!
