Joey is a 11 years young beagle/cocker mix looking for his forever home! Don't let his age fool you; he's still an energetic dog who can chase a ball for hours. Joey's previous owner raised him since he was a puppy, but unfortunately had to go to a nursing home when she could no longer take care of him. Joey craves attention, loves to snuggle, and is an excellent lap dog. He's used to being the king of the castle and will need a patient and loving home willing to work with him and his strong sense of ownership over toys and treats. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, gets along well with dogs and cats, and would do best in a home with no children.
If you're looking for an energetic and lovable dog, Joey might be the guy for you!

Champ is a 9-year-old sweetheart. He came to Hound Rescue exhausted after spending some time on his own, but he clearly has not always been on his own. He is house trained, knows and follows basic commands, and just wants to sleep and be near his people. He gets along well with kids and only seems to chase cats when they run. He enjoys his walks, sitting in the sun, rolling in grass, and driving in the car.
Champ is a bit hard of hearing, not unusual for an older dog. He would do better as an only dog due to a bit of food aggression. He would also love for his family to work out of the house or be retired. He misses his people when they are gone.
Champ is looking ready for his forever home!

Sometimes we come across a dog that pulls on our heartstrings. In this case it was a bonded pair of girls, Julie and Faith. These ladies were owner surrendered by an owner that could no longer care for them. Faith and Julie are a team; where one goes the other follows! These sweet girls love to just hang out and chill. Food, water, soft beds and some cuddles are all these gals need. However, couch privileges are appreciated. These seniors are heartworm positive and too aged for typical treatment. We are hoping to find just the right place for the lovely ladies to spend their remaining years. Oh, with NO cats!

Dottie is a young, beautiful Coonhound/Treeing Walker Mix. She will instantly warm up to you and want to give you kisses. She especially loves to get in your lap and turnover immediately for a belly rub. She loves a good long belly rub. Dottie is crate trained and house trained and knows the command sit very well. We are working on leash manners and she is a quick learner but her nose sometimes gets in the way and makes her want to pull. She is getting better every day though. Dottie does not do well with cats.
Surprisingly Dottie is a quiet Hound. She can spend several hours outside smelling every inch of the yard and not start baying or howling. She is very puppy-like when it comes to her toys and playing. After she gets a good bit of exercise she relaxes well.

Dash is a lovely, friendly and happy go lucky beagle guy. He came to us severely obese -- but otherwise in good health (neutered, heartworm negative). He's super sweet and getting along with everyone he meets so far. We're working hard to help him get back into shape and have started a Go Fund Me campaign to raise the $900 needed for 10 weeks of water therapy since the vets have said he cannot "go for a walk" until he loses about 20 pounds. Clementine is well-mannered, obedient, and trained. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home (beagles, a Newfoundland, and a Bernese) and is happy to share with them. Although she is independent when outside, she will join in some dog games on occasion. She only barks when she is on the trail of a squirrel; she will try and climb a tree to get them. She really doesn't play with toys, preferring to spend her time outside sniffing and looking for squirrels and other small animals. She definitely needs a high fence, 5-6 feet high. When not enjoying the great outdoors, Clementine enjoys sleeping on whatever beds are available, for dogs or humans. In the house, she is quiet, well behaved and enjoys being petted. Overall, she is a friendly, gentle companion.

Ellie is a petite 9 year old beagle looking for a very special home. This sweet girl does not ask for much and while very curious, she is not mischievous. Ellie is a little shy and apprehensive when approached. But with the right family, she will learn to trust. Ellie can be vocal when she has something to say. We are working on house training and how to use the doggy door.

We are looking for a wonderful home for our sweet three year old Black and Tan Coonhound. We are heartbroken to have to do this, but Ellie Mae needs a large property to roam and spend time with her owners and possibly other canine companions. Ellie is gentle, extremely smart and has grown up with another large dog, horses and four small children. She is spayed, has all current vaccinations, up to date vet papers and is AKC registered. Serious inquiries only as we will be selective as to where she is placed.
Note: This girl is not with Hound Rescue and is a courtesy posting only. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about adopting.

Caldwell is a very happy and well-adjusted boy and likes to play with both other dogs and people. He will enjoy an active person or family who will spend time with him and take him places like the dog park and on super fun walks! As a typical young Border Collie mix and “active companion” (vs. “companion” or “couch potato” energy levels), Caldwell does need daily exercise but his energy is not excessive, and he does like to crash and curl up for a good nap after play time. Caldwell likes to play with balls and tug toys with people and other dogs.
Caldwell has not been tested with cats, but has done great with kids of all ages at All Border Collie Rescue’s monthly meet and greet events at Natural Pawz in Houston.
Caldwell is an energetic puppy and loves to play with his brother and the several other dogs in his foster home of both genders, all ages, and all sizes. Caldwell kennels/crates well, sleeps through the night in his kennel without issue, and also is trained to go into his kennel for meals. He would love for his new owner to take him to a basic obedience class to learn how to work well together and as a bonding experience. He loves to swim in the pond at his foster home with all of the other dogs.

Lola is a sweet, adorable, and very well-behaved girl. Lola gets along with other beagles and cats, as well as kids. She is very quiet and likes to take long naps. Lola does have some special needs related to arthritis and hip dysplasia. It will be very important for her to maintain her current weight (special prescription food helps this) and to have daily 15-30 minute walks on a leash - but no high-impact or high-agility activity.
Lola is waiting for a loving home and a special family to call her own!

Marlow is a very affectionate and personable 1-year old smaller 13-in beagle. He is full of kisses and always eagerly greets you at the door when you come home… Not very vocal, he speaks only when there is a reason - so for a beagle, he’s on the quiet side. Marlow likes to play with toys to entertain himself, or with other people or dogs; fetch is a favorite game of his. He is good at jumping up on the bed or couch, and loves to sit on lawn chairs outside! Marlow gets along with other dogs with no issues. He loves to be the center of attention at times when he’s in an affectionate mood, but he does settle down and is quite content to curl up alongside you. Marlow happily sleeps in a crate at night and will even go in on his own at times during the day. His wonderful personality makes him a great fit for families with other dogs, but we think he'd do okay on his own with an owner who has plenty of time to spend with him (and exercise him!).
Marlow is working on his housetraining and to only go outside, but needs consistency in his routine to finish this work - we also think crate training will really help him resolve this quickly. Marlow is a joy to foster and his foster parents know it will be emotionally hard to let him go, but they also want to see him find his forever family that is long overdue this little guy.

Hambone is a 2-3 year old Beagle/Corgi mix. He is a big cuddler who loves to wrestle with humans and other dogs. But he also respects the older ones that do not wish to play. He has a very happy personality. Energetic during the day, heavy sleeper at night. Never turns down a belly rub. Hambone is house and doggy door trained but not fond of the crate. Hambone loves the water!

Dwight and Daisy who were owner-surrendered. Dwight is a super lovebug and not shy about letting you know he wants attention. He is a very sweet, even-tempered beagle. Daisy’s personality is developing. Unfortunately, her thyroid issue was not treated which allowed her to become obese and sedentary. She loves to be petted and adored, getting her ears massaged. Dwight is very protective of her so we would like to keep them together. Both are house trained. Dwight uses a doggy door. Daisy does not quite fit yet; but she’ll get there!
